My opinions are the same as my opinions about interracial marriage, which finally became legal in all 50 states in 2000. |

Another step forward for society. I never understood why people felt so intimately about judging what other people do in their lives. |

I think it's great. I don't think churches should be forced to recognize gay marriages, that's their prerogative, but I do think that this country cannot go around saying that our aim is to continue our founding purpose of "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness " if we do not allow gay marriage. Everyone has a right to pursue their happiness so long as it does not harm or exploit other people. Gay marriage is no threat to anybody, and so there's no reason it should not be legal in every state. |

That would be funny if Alabama was the next state to do it. |

How is this going to affect the Republican primaries and their chances of winning in 2012, when the first two primaries (Iowa and New Hampshire) are both in states with gay marriage? |

I wonder why gays don't just move to those states that made it official. Fine for those states, but I personally don't believe in the concept. |

I can't wait until the majority of states legalize same-sex marriage and decriminalize marijuana. The fundies will have a fit. |

It's a stepping stone in the destruction of traditional family life and values. I have already heard about Y marriages and Tri marriages...take note of these terms. |

I think the rest of the country should follow the example. Gay people should have the same rights. |

Sounds good. I'm glad people are starting to be able to have their relationship recognised with equal legal and financial rights. Slavery, then women, then inter-racial couples, now gay couples. I'm glad we're still able to move forward regardless of the church's kicking and screaming. |

I think it proves a lot, and it's making it one step closer to legal everywhere it's like a lot of things i think, it doesn't matter whether you think it's wrong or right, b/ c if you think it's wrong, don't get married to someone of the same sex as you, but don't go around condemning people for loving and being committed to their partner, i mean, i don't see what's wrong with that not all traditions have to stay the same, ya know? |

Thank God! One more State restores what ignorant and bigoted men in Europe wiped out centuries ago. Same-sex marriages were common in Europe until the 13th century. They were, in fact, common around the world, until the arrival of Europeans... the same Europeans who, in the 17th century altered the Bible to make it look like God was opposed to homosexuality. |
