I didnt even realize other states do this legally, im a lesbian, and i know most places probably wont, but if they want can they, also can they fire or discriminate because of the way i look (i.e. too gay lol) jus curious |

Pennsylvania is an "at will " state, meaning you can be fired for any reason or no reason, just so long as the reason does not fall into one of the protected categories. The state protects Age, Race, Sex (NOT sexual orientation), Religion, National origin, Disability, and Pregnancy. There are many states that do not protect sexual orientation. Only 13 provide protection based on sexual orientation and gender identity, while an additional 7 provide protection only for sexual orientation. At the Federal level, Congress has been trying to pass ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) adding in sexual orientation and, just last year, gender identification. So far, no luck getting this legislation through. |

I haven't heard of them being able to do it outright like that. I have heard of them finding another reason, blowing it out of proportion and then firing people. |

I doubt that they can BUT when a employer wants to get rid of someone they can usually find an excuse, something like lateness or time of work,being a disruptive influence on the workforce |
