It is a sad state of affairs that in the 21st century, one of the richest and most powerful countries in the world is still so concerned with what a couple of concenting adults are doing in the privacy of their own home and want to show their love and commitment to each other, when there are so many more important things going on in the world! I think gay marraige should be legalised all over the world and the biggots and homophobes made illegal and outcasts!!

Unlike in California, the DC council approved this and not a court ruling. It could still be voted on, but it's unlikely it would be overturned in DC...DC is the gay capital of the mid-Atlantic.

I won't be traveling to get hitched because fortunately, my state has legalized gay marriage as of last year. Good move by DC, hopefully more states/ districts will notice that this should be legal, constitutionally.
